I have this game also.

Good game but with no fumbles and rare incomplete passes it's definitely not up to par with NES TSB.

I agree, though some like this one even more, but for me it's TSB on nes, and probably TSB for super nintendo as my next favorite

Me too.

Don't get me wrong. This game (NES Tecmo Bowl) will always have a place in my heart. My friends and I started playing this game and it got us into the whole NES TSB thing so for that I'll always be grateful to play the original Tecmo Bowl.

I actually didn't get the original until after TSB came out and I had heard there was another one. We started playing that game too but it got thrown aside for TSB. 8 plays instead of 4 is better and more fun.

Yeah I always kind of thought that 4 plays to choose from was too little. 8 plays seems just about right. Not too little and not too much. Like in TSB II and TSB III, 16 plays just seems too much to choose from and kind of kills the flow of the game for me because you have to press the control pad and the button twice (in those games, first you choose your playbook and then choose the play).
